◆It is actually the fastest and easiest for one to advance from beginner to intermediate level in language learning!
Have you noticed this fact?
We often hear that it is the most difficult to reach intermediate level in language learning.
Why is that so?
That is because, many people have stumbled at the one of the three or all the major obstacles of 【pronunciation, characters, grammar】, and have decided to give up soon after.
I, myself, also gave up halfway through when I first started learning Korean, as I could not get used to the hangul characters.
There ought to be many others who have also went through similar experiences.
During my second challenge in learning Korean, I ignored all the hangul characters and jumped straight into creation of sentences and speaking practice.
By doing so, I managed to reach intermediate level and was able to handle daily conversations without any difficulties.
Instead, I feel that advancing from intermediate level onwards would be the one that requires more time. Regardless of persons, most would require a certain amount of time. However, as long as the method is correct, it is very easy to reach intermediate level.
There is no absolute order for the process of language learning, such as memorizing the characters, learning of grammar and so on from the beginning!
With Kisslingo, all the content is available from the start, therefore you can start learning from wherever you like.
Kisslingo will support your journey in language learning by maximizing the efficiency, enjoyment and ease through the removal of the 3 major obstacles of grammar, pronunciation and characters!
◆Features of Kisslingo【Fragmentation】
Please read the sentence below.
【I usually wake up early in the morning.】
We can break this sentence into 5 fragments, I/usually/wake up/early/in the morning. When we translate it into Japanese, it will be 私は/普段/起きます/早く/朝.
We refer to the act of breaking the sentence into parts as【fragmentation】, which makes it easier to understand the sentence in detail.
Why use fragmentation?
This is because we are able to break a long sentence into small fragments, then translate the sentence using the small fragments.
When translating a long sentence, we can translate the fragments one by one, which makes it easier to create sentences.
In Kisslingo, by translating small fragments of sentences, you will be able to improve your sentence composition skills effectively and efficiently.
◆No grammar! Only word order!
In Kisslingo, we do not think about grammar.
We would only require “order of fragments”, focusing solely on word orders when it comes to learning new languages.
Most beginners will surely encounter these 3 obstacles on their way to intermediate level, which are grammar, pronunciation and characters.
Many will spend a huge amount of time on these and give up halfway through, before they reach the most enjoyable stage of creating sentences and conversing.
In Kisslingo, the 3 obstacles are completely removed, so that even beginners who have just started learning languages can start practicing sentence compositions.
◆You don’t have to be able to read the characters!
Japanese is a very complicated language for learners who use English or other alphabet languages.
This is because there are three types of characters, specifically Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji.
There is nothing wrong with studying the characters if you enjoy it, however many learners give up on learning Japanese due to the process of getting used to the characters.
In Kisslingo, there is no direct learning for reading of characters.
For vocabulary, let’s remember it by the sound and not the characters.
◆ The pronunciation doesn’t have to be perfect!
For the pronunciation, just being able to somewhat pronounce the words is good enough.
With Kisslingo, you can simply imitate the audio files to try pronouncing the words.
There is no need to care about the small details such as mouth shape, position of the tongue and the difference in sound.
It is OK as long as the sound is similar.
There are teachers who persistently correct the pronunciation, but here at Kisslingo, we’d like you to learn languages in the opposite method.
◆Start studying grammar, pronunciation and characters only when you have reached intermediate level.
Even for those who may feel the need to study grammar, pronunciation and characters, please ensure your sentence compositing skills are up to intermediate level first before starting to do so.
It is good enough to start studying grammar, pronunciation and characters when you have reached intermediate level and above.
Some might say that by doing so, you may end up having a bad habit, but having that risk is better than giving up halfway through the process, as I feel that it will end up to be worse than the bad habit.
◆No need to force yourself to memorize words!
In Kisslingo, we focus on using words that are the basics of basic and commonly used in our daily lives to create sentences. Therefore, the words that are used will be more or less limited.
Because of that, the same words will come out multiple times when you continuously practice the creation of sentences.
During that process, you will memorize the words naturally.
There is no need to force yourself to memorize the words.
There is also no need to worry even if you can’t memorize the words.
It is fine for you to forget it ten thousand times as well.
Also, try not to memorize difficult words or words that are not often used.
With the time that you are spending to memorize those words, it is more beneficial to use it on practicing sentence creation.
Despite so, if you are able to memorize the words, there is nothing wrong with it.
What we are trying to say is that, if you find that memorizing the words is tough, please do not force yourself.
◆Language learning requires practice and not studying!
Instead of studying, language learning is more similar to practicing instruments.
It is important for you to memorize it physically, through the repetition of creating sentences.
However, no matter how important practice is, there is no point if you were to do it blindly.
Kisslingo will support you so that you will be able to create sentences and converse with ease and efficiently within a short amount of time.
◆Kisslingo is a language learning resource that I have always wanted as someone who has been studying up to more than 10 language for more than 10 years.
All the learning resources that I have encountered up till now were all unable to fully satisfy me. This is something I have made for new learners starting from 1, ensuring that they are able to reach their hands out to whatever resources available on the app.
(Of course, we are open to feedbacks and hope to further improve our app through the feedbacks received as well)
I, myself, also plan to start learning a new language using this app.
◆There are also demerits!
Kisslingo is a great language learning app, but it is still lacking. The app is lacking of writing practice, which will not be implemented.
Please keep in mind that if you want to be able to write, you will have to practice separately.
Apart from that, having speaking practice with native speakers is very important.
After being able to create sentences using this app, the next step that you should take would be to have speaking practice with native speakers.
Creating sentences alone and creating sentences based on what the other party has said is very different.
I often hear that it is fine even if the grammar is incorrect, just try your best to speak in the language.
It is not wrong, as you need to at least know how to create sentences before you can even try speaking out. Some may say that “The meaning gets through as long as the words are listed out one by one!”, and Kisslingo is exactly a further evolved practice for such listing down of words.
◆Languages with the top 20 most number of native speakers to be supported!
Starting from support for English speakers studying Japanese, we plan to support other many different languages in the future.
In the process, I plan to introduce new and innovative learning methods.
Not only that, we plan to make it so that the points that are gained through the learning levels in the trial version will be usable in the versions that are released later.
◆It is fine no matter how short your studying time is!
As Kisslingo is a smartphone application, it is obvious that you can start studying anytime, and also stop as and when you like! You can simply answer one question and stop right after, therefore it is possible to make use of the 10 seconds wait for the train to study.
There are many learning resources that take up a lot of time, requires real currency, can’t continue on, however, for Kisslingo, grammar does not exists in our dictionary, only word order! We focus solely on the word order!
By relying on the “3 in a row jargon drill” which is a practice method for creation of sentences making use of illustrations, you will be able to create more natural sounding sentences!
Completely free of charge!
By using “fragmentation”, which breaks up the sentence into fragments, and by translating each fragment, you can easily create a sentence!
